Neuromuscular Controller developed by EPFL tested on the Achilles

From 16-20 March 2015, some first tests with the neuromuscular controllers (developed by EPFL) in combination with the Achilles exoskeleton (developed by TUD) were conducted in Enschede. Reflex patterns of the Soleus and Tibialis Anterior muscles were mimicked in the torque control of the Achilles. A subject wearing the Achilles was able to walk at different walking speeds while being supported by the neuromuscular controllers. An enormous amount amount of data (EMG of 2×8 muscles, force plate data and motion capture data) was collected, which will be analyzed soon.
